2. 14 days hotel quarantine
We’re back for Episode 2 where I’m going to be real, raw and openly honest about a really challenging time in my life. Today, I'll be opening up about my journey of mental transformation in the wake of Covid-19.
As someone who lives in London, the pandemic hit close to home, and being in home and hotel quarantine took a toll on my mental health. I found it challenging to maintain relationships with family and friends during this time. Eventually, I decided to seek help and went to see a doctor for a mental health plan.
I saw two types of therapists, doctors, and even a chiropractor for vertigo to better understand the physical implications of my anxiety. I realised that I needed to make changes in my life and move away from the person I no longer wanted to be.
I used to give my value to others but didn't value myself enough. I began investing in myself through programs, conversations, and tuning into the right people, which started to grow my confidence.
I also developed strategies that helped me cope with my anxiety, such as breathing exercises and talking about my emotions despite people's reactions or comments. I learned that it's okay to feel emotions, but it's important to be accountable and pull myself out of them.
I'm sharing my story today in the hopes that it encourages others to seek help and invest in their mental health. Remember, it's okay to feel emotions, and there are always people willing to support you.
As a coach, I offer 1:1 coaching services, which I describe as more like a friend. I'm always open to discussing mental health and offering support to anyone who needs it.
